First documented in 1853 by mineralogist A. Kenngott and named for its distinctive crystal symmetry, this mineral carries an 18th-century heritage as "Electric Calamine." Sourced from premier locations including Algeria, Mexico, Greece, Italy, and Namibia, Hemimorphite has been traditionally valued for its reputed protective qualities—believed to deflect negativity, discord, and malevolent influences when carried during challenging encounters.
