A truly extraordinary piece of natural history. Opalized Petrified Wood, also known as wood opal, is a rare geological treasure where ancient wood has been gradually transformed into luminous opal, while preserving its original grain, patterns and organic structure.

This remarkable fossil dates back around 20 million years, to the Miocene era, when the trees grew in ancient forests of Indonesia. Over millions of years, the wood was replaced by minerals, primarily silica, creating something that still carries the unmistakable character of the tree it once was.
