Product Description
Known as the 'Guardian of Scotland', these Silver and Amethyst Thistle Stud Earrings will make the perfect gift for any true Scot!

Handcrafted in 925 Sterling Silver, each earring is adorned with a single round natural Amethyst gemstone to represent the purple bud of this flower. With carefully designed silver surround which showcases the sharp leaves and thorns. In a perfectly formed size, they will sit comfortably on the earlobe.

The Thistle became a symbol for Scotland because based on legends which claimed that when the Scottish army was under threat from a Viking invasion, the invaders trod on thistles when trying to creep up on the Scottish army to surprise them. When they cried out in pain from the prickly plants, the Scottish army were alerted and won the battle that followed.
